LARGE YARDING OP CATTLE AT TE AWAMUTU.

Messrs Dalgety and Company report having held their usual tri-weekly sale of stock at Te Awamutu on Thursday last. There was a very large yarding of over 1300 cattle, including ,139 head of beef, 1052 store cattle, 110 dairy cows, heifers, and bulls, and pigs and sheep. \ The beef yarded was of good quality, and though prices were lower than at the company's previous sale .they were well up to recent market rates. Pens of prime bullocks made £lB, £l7 10s, £l7 ss, £l6 10s, £l6 2s 6d; small prime steers, £l2 4s; pens of prime heavy cows and heifers, £ll 12s 6d, £lO 12s 6d, £8 6s, £8 lis, £7 9s, £9 2s 6d; small cows and heifers £7 2s 6d to £8 15s. The yarding of store cattle was a very large one, and for quality was the best that has been offered in Waikato for many years. The feature of the yarding were several lines of well-bred Polled Angus and Hereford bullocks, steers, and heifers from the Rangitikei and Hawke's Bay districts, and under keen competition they were all disposed of at very satisfactory figures. Four-year Polled Angus bullocks made £ll 9s to £l2 15s, Shorthorn bullocks £l2 3s, 3-Jye'ar Polled Angus .steers £lO 5s to £lO 15s, Hereford .bullocks £ll to £ll 7s 6d, 3-year steers . £9 15s, 2-year Polled Angus steers £S Is to £8 7s 6d to £8 12, Polled Angus and Hereford steers £8 Is to £8 7s 6d, -a line of 210 Polled Angus 2-year-olds sold at £7 7s to £7 10s, yearling Polled Angus steers made £6 to £6 15s 6d, 2-year Polled Angus, heifers £6 15s, 3 year empty Polled Angus heifers £7 to £6 17s 6d. There was a good yarding of all classes of bulls, Polled Angus selling up to £25 10s, Hereford bulls £l2 to £l2 15s, Jersey bulls £6 to £l2, Shorthorn £5 to £l2 12s. Dairy cows were yarded in average numbers; best cows made £lO to £ll 10s, others £7 5s to £8 15s, 2year empty dairy heifers £3 lis to £4. Pigs were yarded in moderate numbers, the majority of the yarding being weaners and stores, which sold under keen competition, weaners making 17s to 31s, stores £2 5a porkers £3 3s to £3 9s. Only a few sheep were yarded; fat hoggets made 36s 6d, fat woolly wethers £2 2s 6d. RECENT PRICES FOR DOMINION PRODUCTS. Messrs Dalgety and Company report having received the following cablegram, dated 29th October, from their London house:— The butter market shows no improvement. New Zealand butter, salted, is 'quoted at 214 s per cwt; exceptional brands, 218 s per cwt; Danish, 218 s per cwt; finest Australian, salted, 206 s per cwt; unsalted, 206 s per cwt; stored New Zealand, unsalte'd, 204 s per cwt. The cheese market is quiet, with Canadian, spot, quoted at 118 s per cwt and, c.i.f. 115 s per cwt. At the sheep skin sale the attendance of buyers and the competition are good. Compared with last sale, merino skins are 71 to 10 per cent higher, merino clothing skins, 10 per cent, higher; .Australian crossbred combing, 5 to 7£ per cent higher; Australian clothing crossbred skins, 10 per cent higher; and New Zealand cross'bred generally 5 per cent higher. New Zealand prime crossbred lamb, Canterbury, heavy, 10Jd per lb; light, Hid per lb. North Island, heavy, 104(1 per lb; light, Hid per lb. The demand for New Zealand lamb is poor; the market is nominal. New Zealand prime crossbred mut'ton, Canterbury, heavy, 8d per lb; light, Bisd per lb. 'North Island, heavy, 7£d per lb; light, SJd per lb. The demand for New Zealand mutton is limited.; the market is weaker.

New Zealand prime ■ox beef, hinds, sid per lb; fores, 4| per lb. The demand for New Zealand beef is poor owing to the warm weather; the market is steady. The market for pork is very firm; spot price for New Zealand pork, lid per lb. JBaconers are in fair demand at IOJd per lb, spot price.
