ARRANGEMENTS FOR DEMONSTRATION.

A" meeting of the committee of the Te Awamutu Jersey Cattle Club was held at the Farmers' Institute last Thursday evening. Mr C. Parker presided.

Mr F. J. Ryburn, representing the Paterangi Jersey Club, attended. The secretary, Mr J. G. Wynyard, reported correspondence with the N.Z. Jersey Cattle Breeders' Association, and the rules, issued by the Association for guidance were placed before the meeting. It appears that only three of the committee are members of the Association. In order that the Club may receive the subsidy of 10s in the £ up to £lO it will be necessary for the other members of the committee to become members also of the Association.

The secretary reported having sent out notices to the members that the annual subscription was due.—Approved. Re the financial position, the secretary reported that there was a sum of £3 2s 6d in harnd. The chairman reported that he and the secretary had attended the meeting of the South Auckland Association held in Hamilton on 21st April last and as a result of their efforts it was arranged that the Dominion Council should be invited to attend Te Awamutu on Friday, 12th June, as per invitation issued by the Club. It was proposed by Mr Parker and seconded by Mr Clarke, that a committee consisting of Messrs Quin, Ryburn and Wynyard make arrangements for a luncheon for 100, the cost to be defrayed by the sale of tickets to local supporters at 7s 6d each, visitors being free. The following classes for competition were agreed upon:— Cow, 3 years and over, to be dry, or milked out before being judged. Open to pedigree or grade. If sufficient entries are received two separate classes will be made.

Bull (pedigree) over 1 year and under 2 years. Heifer over 1 year and under 2 years, open to pedigree or grade. If sufficient entries are received two classes will be made. The total amount of entrance fees received in each class to be divided amongst the prizewinners. It was agreed that Mr H. E. B. Watson be asked to officiate as judge and demonstrate on the classes.

It was proposed by Mr Clarke and seconded by Mr Rennie, that a combined breeders' bull sale be arranged for at Te Awamutu on a date not more than a week earlier than the sale at Hamilton on 7th October, and the matter be left in the hands of Messrs Parker and Ryburn to arrange.
