During the course of the afternoon it was notified that Hector Gray would ride the Hawk in his engagement to-morrow. Results are: Mangatarata Hurdles: Suspicion 1, Mahia 2, Goodmark 3. Longlands Welter: Chaplin 1, Sottano 2,G General Carrington 3. Nursery Handicap: Standard and Lin Arlington (dead heat) 1, Shirley 3. Hawke’s Bay Stakes: Gloaming 1, Runnymede 2, Mimetic 3. Hawke’s Bay Cup: Kilfaire 1, Hgze 2, Quiescent 3: Poukawa Hack: Pantagruel 1, Huikai 2, Newbury King 3. Autumn Handicap: Good Sport 1, Heather Sprig 2, Snatcher 3. _ Porangahau Handicap: Rational 1, Hall Mark 2, Princess Ronnie 3. The totalisator investments for the day aggregated £24,221.
