MEETING OF LADIES’ COMMITTEE.
STEWARDS APPOINTED.
The Ladies’ Committee of the Te Awamutu Agricultural, Pastoral Horticultural Association met at Farmers’ Institute on Saturday afternoon last, when there were present Messrs T. Davis (president) and M. H. Williams, Mesdames W. G. Macky, A. S. Wallace, R. Dawson, S. C. Macky, W. Scott, A. 11. Storey and Geo. Hall. The chairman explained that the meeting had been called to draw up the schedule of the horticultural section for the forthcoming show, and he asked those present to suggest any alterations or improvements that may be deemed necessary. It was decided, after some discussion, that the cups at present offered j for the garden competitions and which are not being competed for be utilised for: (a) Best exhibit of farm produce produced on 'exhibitor’s farm comprising roots, cereals, butter, eggs, fruit and vegetables; and (b) best exhibit of cut flowers, fruit and vegetables produced in exhibitor’s own garden. Further, last year’s schedule was gone through and various alterations were made.
The following were appointed stewards for the various classes: Pot plants and cut flowers, Mrs R. Dawson; decorative, fruit, garden and field produce, Mrs W. Scott; farm and dairy produce, Mrs S. C. Macky; home industries, Mesdames W. G. Macky and P. W. Peate; needle and fancy work, Mrs A. S. Wallace; children’s classes, Mrs Geo. Hall.
