TE RORE PICNIC
A SUCCESSFUL GATHERING.
(Own Correspondent.)
The annual school picnic was held at Mr Allcock's farm last Thursday. Fine weather prevailed during the forenoon and a large number congregated to celebrate the occasion. The grounds were decorated with flags and ribbons and had quite a sporting appearance which was very creditable to the schoolmaster, Mr B. and the children who were responsible for the work. Messrs W. McKinnon G. Bell and H. Mabbett acted as handicappers, the judges being Messrs E. Anderson, G. Lorrimer and J. Butterworth. The chairman of the School Committee, Mr W. Allcock, presented the prizes, many of which were donated by the tradesmen of Te Awamutu, Ohaupo and H. Bell and Co. of Pirongia. The School Committee is grateful to these gentlemen for the generous response to the appeal for prizes.
