FARMER DROWNED.
(By Telegraph. Press Association.l TAUMARUNUI. Friday. The body of a man named John Christie Brown, who wandered from a hotel in Taumarunui at 4 o'clock on Thursday morning, was discover ed yesterday afternoon floating, face downwards, in the Wanganui River, near Te Whakarae. Deceased had been in ill-health for some time, and on Wednesday last was discharged from Auckland Hospital. Deceased was a farmer at Matiere.
