FALL OF EARTH.
BLOCKS RAILWAY LINE. (By Telegraph. —Press Association.) AUCKLAND. Monday. About one thousand tons of day and rock fell on to the railway line on the Auckland side of the Newmarket tunnel yesterday, complete! v blocking the inward track. The bank where the slip occurred is part of the Domain and almost at the tunm mouth, and the debris on the line was firet noticed by some boys, who immediately reported Cm fact to the railway authorities. As a result, the outward line was used between Newmarket and Auckland for trains, snd (hr time table was maintained practically without interruption. A party of workmen was immediately put on to clear the debris from the, track and by midnight the line was ready Louse again.
