HUNTING FIELD FATALITY.
•>IHS WYNN BROWS KILLED. HOUSE CRASHES INTO PENCE. Word readied Te Awamutu last night of a very sad accident that occurred yesterday afternoon at Tamahere, resulting 'in the death of Mrs Wynn Brown, wife of the well-known master of the Waikato Hunt, and sister of our townsman, Mr E. B. Walker. It appears that Mrs Wynn Brown, who years ago was one of the most capable horsewomen in the province, was following the Waikato hounds at the Tamahere run. when at a stiff fence her mount, The Hawker, failed to rise, probably owing to the jump being obscured by sun rays. The horse turned a complete somersault, and fell heavily on 'its rider, who was unable to get clear. Help for Mrs Wynn Brown was quickly at hand, but apparently death was instantaneous, a broken neck being among the injuries received. Deceased was a daughter of the late Mr E. B. Walker, of Monavale, and had resided all her life in the Cambridge district, her husband having a farm at Fencourt. She leaves a sorrowing husband and family of two girls and a boy, to whom the sympathy of a very wide circle of friends and acquaintances will be accorded, for she was a good wife and mother, and widely esteemed. Her death under such tragic circumstances has naturally cast a gloom over the whole district.
