I TE AWAMUTU V. TE KUITI. The return inter-club match between representatives of Te Kuiti and. Te Awamutu Croquet Clubs took place on Wednesday last on tlie local lawns. On arrival by train the visitors were welcomed and entertained to lunch by the local executive, and then play commenced. Results were (Te Kuiti players being mentioned first in each instance): — Mrs Evans and Miss Pavitt 26 v. Mesdames Thomas and Bowden 22. Mesdames Jarvie and Hadfield 10 v. Mesdames Bray anci Peake 26. Mrs Evans and Miss Pavitt 26 v. Mesdames Thomas and Battson 11. Mesdames Jarvie and Hadfield 26 v. Mesdames Bray and Peake 26. Mrs Evans and Miss Pavitt 23 v. Mesdames Thomas and Bowden 20. Totals: Te Kuiti, 114; Te Awamutu, 103. All the matches were keenly contested. and much interest was displayed by the spectators. The visitors were heartily congratulated upon their win. The local club’s combined ■■ doubles championship was played on Thursday, Mesdames Thomas and Brooks defeating Mesdames Bowden and Jones by 26 points to 21.
