AN UPWARD TENDENCY
Hn addressing shareholders of tbe Imperial ‘Tobacco Company (of Great Britain and Ireland), :Mr G. A. Wills, who presided over the annual meeting, held at Britol, said: “I am sorry to say that during the season now closing leaf markets have again shown an upward tendency, and, failing a substantial reduction in the tobacco duty, which now stands at 8s 2d per lb comared with 3s 8d at the beginning of the war, I see no possibility whatever of a reduction in prices.”
