" THE 'MASTER MIND."
The above picture will be screened at the Empire Theatre to-morrow night in conjunction with' the chopping contest. The story is of a man who planned for five long years to avenge himself on an attorney who sent his innocent brother to the electric chair. The play has made a sensation as a stage success, and as a picture it develops several surprising twists and unusual situations. The picture is one that gives Barrymore one of the, most powerful roles of his screen career, a role which is admirably suited to that stern, sometimes forbidding personality which tinges and characterises everything he does on the stage and off it. There is a strong supporting cast in the picture.
"KOPED."
Harry Carey, acknowledged master of all "natural" Western picture-play stars, has completed his latest Universal special attraction, "Roped," and will appear at the Empire theatre on Saturday in a role that is different from anything he has yet interpreted. "Roped" is a thrilling Western story, in which much of the action has an Eastern background, including New York's "Great White Way," with many incidents of a humorous character.
