An Auckland telegram say that the Arbitration .Court gave judgment by consent for £740 in'a claim by Josephine Andrews against J. T. Julian and Son, builders, as the result of the death of her husband, who was killed while working for the defendant firm at New Plymouth on 21st March. The enrolling of students for the various classes to be conducted under the auspices of the advisory board of the Te Awamutu technical school is now proceeding, and so far the number received is: English and arithmetic, 9; shorthand and typewriting, 11; bookkeeping, 15; dressmaking, 7; cookery, 3; woodwork, 2. In all the classes, except English and arithmetic, in which 18 pupils are required, twelve pupils is the minimum with which it is proposed to proceed with the instruction. Intending students may enrol with Mr C. P. Battson (chairman of the advisory board), who will be pleased to afford all particulars. At the final meeting of the Mangaorongo Road Board there were present: Messrs Fry (chairman), Worsfold, Brock, Lurman, and (Huston.
