DISTRICT NEWS.

EAIPAKI NEWS. (District Representative). On Thursday last a concert and dance was given in the Kaipaki Public Hall in aid of the Ohaupo Town Hall site fund. The concert, which was in'every way a success, was organised by the Ohaupo Social Committee and the services contributed by the concert party were much appreciated, all the items Leing well received. Three selections were contributed by the orchestra consisting of Mrs J. T.'Watson (piano), Mrs Burrell ('cello), Mr J. T. Watson and the Misses E..and J. Watson (violins), Mr C. North (clarionet) and Mr Williams (cornet). Quartets, "Far Away," and "Good Night Beloved," Mrs Burrell, Miss J. Watson; Rev. C. W. Turner, and J. T Watson; trip, "Sweet and Low," Miss Watson, Rev. C. W. Turner and Mr J. T. Watson; mandolin solos (2), Mrs N. J. Finlay; comic songs and ventriloquial items, Rev. C. W.. Turner; comic songs and monologues, Mr Fort; pianoforte duet, Mrs J.TT. Watson and Miss Watson; song, "Little Mr Baggy Breeches," Miss J. Watson;, recitation, "A 'China Tragedy;" Miss J. Watson. Following the concert an enjoyable dance wq* held, when Mr D. Weal capably acted as master of ceremonies, the music being supplied by voluntary helpers.
