A DETECTIVE'S CHARGES.
NOT UPHELD BY COMMISSION. EXAGGERATED OPINION. , (By Telegraph. Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The report of the Commission to inquire into the charges by ex-De-tective- Mason against Mr Norswood, Police Superintendent, and Mr Mc- ' Ilveney, Inspector of Police, exonerates them. It states there is-not the slightest foundation for the; charges land the proceedings \agains|t Miles and Millanta showed clearly there was no attempt to suppress facts ret velant to the inquiry and the charges arose from an exaggerated estimate by 'Mason of the value of his own opinion. Judge Stringer, who was asked to give his personal opinion on the point, says that nothing affecting the adminstration of justice was disclosed during the inquiry. Detective Rawle, whose conduct was impugned, is also exonerated.
