THE PUKEKAWA MURDER.
EVIDENCE BY DECEASED’S SON. LEFT-HANDED GUNMAN. AUCKLAND, Ths Day. In the* Pukekawa murder case Philip Sydney Eyre aged 16, said he was often out shooting with Thorn who was a good shot and always fired left-handed. He had frequently seen the accused go into his mother’s room. The boy gave other evidence as to the relations between Mrs Eyre and Thorn, and had heard the latter say he would ipurder or kill Eyre. He was not sure which. Hazard, gunmaker of Auckland, said that in his opinion the gun fired at deceased was used by a left-handed person who stood on the cross piece, holding on with the right hand to the window sill.
