WANGANUI HACKS. By Telegraph—Press Association WANGANUI, Thursday. The Wanganui Jockey Club’s winter meeting opened in boisterous weather. Heavy rain fell yesterday, but the track was in good order. Results: — Borough Handicap—Miss Gold 1, Egmont Park 2, Ruddy 3. All started. Won by a neck. Time, 1.14 4-5. Steeplechase First Line 1, Wirokino 2, Gladful 3. Also started: Maliattan. Won by five lengths. Time, 6.23 2-5. Hack Steeplechase—Ngakanui and Sir Donald dead heat, Luke 3. Manhattan was scratched. Time, 4.13 2-5. Kaitoke Hack Paddington Green 1, Master Boris 2, ’Cello 3. Scratched: Applaud and Student. Won by half a length. Time, 3.23.
