OBITUARY.
MR ISAAC HODGSON
The death has occured at Te Rore of Mr Isaac Hodgson, one of the oldest settlers in the Te Awamutu district. The late Mr Hodgson, who was 83 years of age, came to the Waikato over 45 years ago, with his wife, who pre-deceased him fifteen years ago. Mr Hodgson arrived in New Zealand in 1857 in the ship Heroes of Alma, and was recognised as one of the oldest and original settlers in the ’Raglan County. He was deeply interested in farming, and took a great deal of time in his breeding of horses and pedigree cattle. He was’ an earnest member of the Presbyterian Church, and was for many years an elder of the Waikato West Ward. Hie is survived by a family of 7. They are as follows: — Mrs Meadway (Paterangi), Mrs S. Reid (Tuhikaramea), and two Miss Hodgsons ; Messrs John Hodgson (Karaka), Isaac Hodgson (Dargaville) and Hubert Hodgson (South Africa). The funeral will take plac« tomorrow (Friday).
