The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report : DAIRY COW SALE. On July Bi.li we held our annual Hamilton dairy cow sale, when we offered 579 dairy cows and heifers. There was a large attendance of buyers, and for whole dairy herds and heifers in good condition, and perceptibly in calf, there was a good demand. The entry, however, was a little too large for one day’s sale, and towards the end some of the lots had to be put through rather hurriedlv. When they appeared backward in calf buyers did not require them. Mr L. Nicholson’s herd of 30 cows averaged £9 3s ; Geo. Welch’s dairy herd of 54 cows averaged £8 3s; Bell and Hillhouse’s herd of 84 cows averaged just on £6; smaller lots of cows averaged from £6 to £7 15s; best Shorthorn dairy heifers £6 5s to £9 ss; best Jersey cross heifers £5 15s to £8; more backward sorts £5 5s to £6. MORRINSVJLLE SALE. At Morrinsville yards, on July loth, v;c had an entry of 653 sheep, 361 fat and store cattle, and Isß dairy cows and heifers. Dairy stock were not as good as those offering at clearing sales; consequently prices for these were not so good. Sheep and fat and store cattle sold well. Fat ewes realised 19s 6d to 21s 3d ; small fat wethers to 24s 9d; fat hoggets 185 6d ; forward hoggets to los 8d ; store hoggets 13s 6d to 15s; fat steers £9 to £ll ; fat cows £5 5s to £8 17s ; forward steers off turnips £7 14s to £9 6s ; store cows £3 18s to £4 lOs ; good yearling steers £2 12s 6d to £3 4s; similar heifers £2 15s to £3 8s; medium calves £2 to £2 I2s 6d ; smaller and bad-coloured 20s

to 30s. A large assortment of implements, pigs, potatoes, fruit trees, etc., made usual rates. The 158 dairy cows and heifers, most of the former being rather backward, made from £3 5s to £6; those close to profit £7 to £9 5s ; heifers £4 5s to £9 ss. CLEARING SALES. On July 6th we held a sale at Gordonton of Mr Chas. Honeybun’s dairy herd. Some of the cows were aged, but all were in good condition and sold well. Prices ranged up to £l4 14s, the 54 cows and heifers averaging £B.

On July 7th we held a clearing sale on behalf of Mr Richard Burke, at his Turang-a-moana farm. There was a very large attendance. The registered Holstein cows and heifero did not sell as well as anticipated, the 37 cows and heifers averaging 11% guineas. Three pedigree Holstein bulls madeßgns, 20gns, and 45gns; 30 Shorthorn, Ayrshire and Jersey cross cows averaged £8 8s; and 65 grade Holstein cows and heifers £8; draught horses £35 to £4O 10s; double buggy £3B; gig £l3; hoggets 15s 9d; yearling steers and heifers £2 4s to £2 lls ; 18 months steers £4 2s. Sundries, implements, etc., made usual values. On July 9th we held a sale of the late Mr C. Manuel’s dairy herd, in the Morrinsville yards. The cows made from £6 6s to £l3 13s, the 82 cows and heifers averaging £8 12s 6d. Dairy utensils made usual rates.
