The bad state of the roads no doubt accounted for the small attendance at the recital given by Rev. J. B. Suckling in the Town Hall on Wednesday. Those in attendance greatly enjoyed the recital throughout. As an elocutionist, Mr Suckling is splendid, and hisJtems were all well received. The following contributed items : —Recitals, Rev. J. B. Suckling; songs, Misses Price and Olphert, Messrs Fredric and Smith. Miss Price and Mr Fredric were the accompanists during the evening.
