CAMBRIDGE V. WAIPA REPS,
To-morrow the above team will meet at Bockett's paddock, and given fine weather, the-contest should provide a good exhibition of hockey. Both teams are entered to take part in the contest for the White Horse Cup to be decided at Auckland next week. Following are the teams : Cambridge—K. Anderson, R. Haysmith, ■ R. Chambers, A. Mann, G. Sim, A. Thompson, W. Cubis, R. Chambers, S. Keeley, J. Cox, H. Crook. Emergencies— A. Beange, S. Beange, L. Cubis, Marcroft and Vause. Waipa Goal, Finn ; fullbacks, Douglas, F. North; halves, Duncan, Solomon, Andrew; forwards, L. North, Johns, K. Johnstone, Parker, Gordon. Emergencies—backs, H. Forkert, Peat, Jephsqn ; forward?, Alright, Yorston. Play starts at 3 sharp. The Kihikihi ladies' hockey team will journey to Te Kuiti on Thursday, to play a return match with the Te Kuiti club. Following are the players:—Misses Hendrickson (2), Walker (2), McCardle (2), Savage, Day, Anderson, Corboy, and Mrs Wade. Emergency: Miss Henderson.
In connection with the Waikato Hunt Club's meet at Mr W 7 G. Park's homestead to-morrow, Messrs Finlay Bros, will run a drag for the conveyance of passengers from Te Awamutu, as advertised. On Friday afternoon the members of the Te Awamutu Town Board, with the engineer, Mr. H. Munro Wilson, were witnesses of a test of the pressure in the water mains. A pressure gauge was attached to a hydrant and this > registered a pressure of 1251b5. to " the square inch.' Later a fire hose was tested and this with- * stood the full pressure from the mains. During the test various nozzles were affixed to the hose, the water rising to a height of 80 feet.
