CORRESPONDENCE.

TO THE EDITOR. SIR, —In a recent number of your excellent little paper I read a report of a meeting held, if my memory serves me aright, in connection with a- board regarding educational matters, one item of news being re a scheme to start a technical school, stating that some £4O odd was already in hand, and that the district was to be canvassed for further funds. Being a stranger to this district I should like, with your permission, Sir, to submit the following proposal to “ the powers that be ” for their consideration : —Without in any way being egotistical, I can safely say I am a good elocutionist, and to assist in such a worthy cause as a technical school for the district, I am prepared, given the use of a hall and lights for one evening, to give an elocutionary recital. I propose to charge popular prices to suit the pockets of the “ masses ” ; the latter being right, the “ classes ” are alscf. Trusting you will publish this if you approve, and so bring same under notice of the aforesaid “ powers,” —I am, etc., A.S.
