SEASONABLE GIFTS

FIREWOOD FOR VARIOUS INSTITUTIONS. Firewood for the winter months is an important item in the maintenance of public institutions, and assistance in this direction is always appreciated. It is pleasing to record that Mr R. C. Reid and the Waipawa and Hastings Fruit Case Co. have donated a load of firewood to eaeh of the following institutions:—Plunket Home, Rathbone Maternity Home, Abbotsford Home, St. Hilda’s Home, and the Convent. Mr Reid Ims received the following acknowledgment from the “St. Hilda’s Family”: “Dear Mr Reid, — This letter is to thank you very much ’’or the wood vou sent to St. Hilda’s fo” us Mi=s Waßer was very pleased to have it. because she has been busy making jam. and that was just what was needed to make it boil quickly. We just quicken up with your wood, and it is lovely to have it for kindling. It is bedtime now, so I must say good-bye.”
