NINETY-FIVE PER CENT.
OF BOROUGH RATES PAID HIGHLY SATISFACTORY RESULT. The Mayor and Borough Council have good reason to feel gratified with the manner in which the ratepayers have met their responsibilities in the payment of rates. Wednesday was the last day on which pavment could be made without incurring the 10 per cent, penalty. and when the Borough office closed the total receipts amounted to £3515 out of £3700 struck, equivalent to 95 per cent., which is slightly better than last year’s record. This must be regarded as highly satisfactory.
