WAIPAWA DRAMATIC CLUB
FIRST READING. In spite of counter-attractions there was a good attendance at the first reading of the season of the Waipawa Dramatic Club on Wednesday evening. Three one-act plays were read by the following members : “Our Lad.” —Joe Williams, Mr C. Woods; Libby Williams, Mrs Allan; Sarah Brown, Miss d’Emden; Dr. Holmes, Mr Tickner. “The Flaw.” —Mr Myddleton, Mr C. Barker; Mrs Myddleton, Mrs H. Rathbone; Hugh Myddleton, Kevin McKay; Phillip Myddleton, Mr Dallas; Brenda Waring, Meryl Wills; Lillian (the maid), Miss Page; Harcourt Denham, Mr P. Cutcliff. “The Heirloom.’’—The American, Mr Tickner; his wife, Miss J. McKay; the old man, Mr Woods; his daughter, Miss Page. The next reading will take place on the first Wednesday in June, “Dangerous Corner,” by Priestly.
