THE BREN GUNS
VISIT HAWKE’S BAY NEXT MONTH. HASTINGS, This day. During the early part of next month the public of Hastings, Napier and Southern Hawke’s Bay will have an opportunity of seeing a demonstration of the new Bren gun-carriers and guns. The carriers will arrive at Napier by rail from New Plymouth in care of Sergeant G. T. Seccombe, N.Z.P.S., and Private R, G. Hart, N.Z.P.A.S.C., as drivers. No definite arrangements have yet been made of the form the demonstration in Hawke’s Bay will take, but it is possible that in one centre at least local territorial units will combine with the carriers in a display. The itinerary is:—Napier, June Ist; Hasting-s, June 2nd; Waipulmrau, June 2nd; Dannevirke, June 2nd; after which the carriers will proceed via Masterton back to Wellington.
