WEDNESDAY.

“FLIGHT FROM GLORY.” An unusual cross-section of life among exiled men who daily flirt with death and who are unable to forsake their dangerous occupation is grippingly revealed in “Flight from Glory,” which brings Chester Morris and AA r hitney Bourne to the screen in the leading roles at the Regent on AA r ednesday. Laid in a bleak South American air base, the story grimly lays bare the forlorn hopes of a group of disgraced aviators who have accepted an offer from a mercenary airline owner in Peru to pilot his condemned ships over the treacherous Andes Mountains. These flyers with diversified pasts react differently to their hopeless plight under the tyranny of the despot who has a mortgage on their lives. One by one the men meet their fate in their flying coffins, and one by one they are replaced with new outcast flyers from the States. One of the latter recruits brings along his young bride, little suspecting the conditions which exist, and it is in this flyer’s disintegration under the terrific strain, as well as the wife’s vain attempt- to fight against love for another pilot, that the story’s gripping drama arises. Sandy Powell’s new smash hit “Leave It To Me” is one of the funniest comedy pictures which the management have secured for many a long month. That this new vehicle gives the grand trouper—famous on music hall, stage and radio alike—the finest opportunities he has ever had cannot he doubted. All that need be said i about the story is that it concerns Sandy’s activities as a speoial constable.
