At the AVaikato meeting on Saturday Valamito won the President’s Handicap, with Enge second. Silk Sox appropriated the Waikato "Hurdles. Iddo, who started second favorite, failed to get a place. The totalisator returns at the Waikato meeting showed an increase of '£lo,ooo by comparison with last year’s figures. The Manawatu Racing Club’s winter meeting on Saturday attracted a big attendance. The totalisator investments were on a par with last year. Conveyor won the Palmerston North Handicap, with Kena second. Slippery fqiled to reproduce his recent form. Easter Rush paid a dividend of over a double century in the AVai-iti Trot at the South Canterbury meeting on Saturday.
