WAIPUKURAU STOCK SALE PRICES SOUND. A greatly-increased yarding of 300 -lore cattle met with a sound market at Waipukurau yesterday. An abundance ol teed in the district hacreated a keen demand for all useful good-doing cattle. Several of the lines offered showed the effects ol hard wintering, Anri were small grown. Despite Ihe high values offered certain vendors were not preIs;iled to meet the market, but sales were afterwards made privately. Well bred 18-inoiitk Aberdeen Angus steers, on account of Stratford Bros., Flemington, in good condition, brought Z 7 18s Cd, and similar aged, well bred Shorthorn steers brought '.'S. Small to medium grown 30-months-old steers made £8 ss, and steers a vpar older, also only medium grown, brought £0 12s fid. Well bred 18-months-old heifers, which should develop into good breeding cows, made some of the best buying in the offering. The few pons of i'n stock did not include any butch* ti: ’ quality sorts. The cows were I aged and the miscellaneous lots were rather ragged and of inferior quality.
