ELSTHORPE.
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MEETING. [Own Correspondent]. The monthly meeting of the Elsthorpe Women’s ' Institute was held on the 17th, with only a moderate attendance. Preparations were made for the election of the new committee, to take place next meeting. Invitations were extended from the Otane Women’s Institute to be present at the half-yearly meeting to be held there in March. Correspondence rvas read, and the balance-sheet showed a substantial amount to the good. The competitions were as follows : —Best bloom in my garden: Mrs Gilmore was first with a yellow dahlia, Mrs Nuttall second with a pink dahlia, and Miss Pepper third with a petunia.
