“HUMAN RADIO SETS”

♦ PROBLEM OF CZECH ARTISANS. LONDON, July 16. Investigation has failed to explain how the two Czech artisans recently reported as “human radio sets” achieve their feats. The men are Franz Sykora, aged 21, and Rudolf Vitavsky, 35. They have caused a sensation by their ability to receive and transmit radio programmes between places as far apart as London and Breslau. They appear to do this through the mediumship of their own bodies, and without the aid of any radio set. Two Prague professors have made a scientific examination, but cannot explain the mystery. The men give demonstrations in the cellar of their own home. After 20 minutes’ deep breathing, ith severe contraction of the body muscles, a trial is made with headreceivers to ascertain if their bodies are “charged with enough electricity. ’ ’ The men hold each other’s hands, and also a loud-speaker. After a few minutes others present are astonished to hear the music of a radio programme coming from the loudspeaker. When the men breathe more strongly, reception is louder.
