GRAND NATIONAL MEETING.

The Canterbury Jockey Club brought their winter meeting to a close on Saturday. It was the most successful since the peak year, 1929, the totalisator increase for the three days being £34,086. Manawatu repeated his performance in the Beaufort Steeples by winning the Lincoln Steeples, with Pahu and Billy Boy in the places. It was a favorites’ day, no less than four catching the judge’s eye.
