+ MR A. S. GRANT. The death occurred at Mangamalioe (Forty Mile Bush), on Friday iast, after a brief illness, at the home <>!' his son. Mr Malcolm Giant, of a much esteemed pioneer settler of the \\ airarapa in the person of Mr Adam Sutherland Grant,, second son of the late Mr and Mrs R. Grant, of “Bannockburn.” Gladstone. The late Mr Grant, who had been in Jailing 1 health for some years, went to the Masterion district some fourteen years back, from Carterton. Eight years earlier he had left Gladst one, where he had been throughout the greater period of his lifetime a prominent figure in funning and semi-public circles of endeavor. Lrant, ol "Morven Hills." Dannevirke; and Messrs R\, G., and 1). Grant, all widely known in Hawke’s Bay. Mr Robert Grant being now engaged in fanning at Runnythorpe; and one sister (Mrs A. E. Stevenson, ol Woodville and formerly of Pahiatua). One brother, Mr John Grant, predeceased him in 1927, also a sister, Mrs Jns. Holms (nee Elizabeth Grant), whose demise took place in 1894. Mr A. C. Holms, editor of the “Waipukurau Press,” is a nephew of the deceased gentleman; Mrs D. G. Macdonald, of Norsewood, a niece; and Mr Ilugald J. Grant, of Bluff Hill, Napier, and formerly of “Bumside," Taka pan. a cousin.
