ELSTHORPE.
[Own Correspondent], Football Dance. A most enjoyable dance was held on Friday evening to raise funds for the Football Club. Les. Henry’s orchestra played excellent music. There was a very large attendance, and a number of young men joined the newly-formed club. A dainty supper was served by the young ladies of the district. Dancing was kept up till the early hours of the morning. Lantern Lecture. A very interesting lantern lecture was given in St. Stephen’s Church on Tuesday night by the Rev. Benham, on Diocesan work in the Waiapu diocese. Views were given of Abbotsford Home (Waipawa), St. Hilda’s (Otane), and St. Mary’s (Napier), also views of some beautiful scenery throughout the North Island. The church was well filled. A collection was taken up in aid of the church work.
