ONGA ONGA SHOW.

A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. The fifteenth annual show of the Onga Onga Horticultural and Home Industries Society was held on Wednesday last, and, as on previous years, can he written down as a success. As at similar functions in Hawke’s Bay this season the number of entries in the flower, fruit and vegetable sections was not as large as usual, hut other sections were quite up to standard. The judges were: —Cut flowers and roses, Mr A. J. Anderson; sweet peas. Mr J. T. Miller; fruit and vegetables, Mr G. Livingstone; ladies’ class, Mesdames Livingstone and J. Buchanan; home industries, Mrs W. Clark; fancy work, Mrs A. C. Daniels; children’s class, Mesdame* W. Clark (cooking) and A. C. Daniels (sewing), Mr F. Curd (woodwork). These were ably assisted by a willing band of stewards. The success of such gatherings depends largely on the arrangements of the secretary, and Wednesday’s show proved that the society had made a wise choice in appointing Mrs KayeThomson to the position. That lady, who was assisted by her sister, Miss Kaye, had all details mapped out and as a result the show passed off without a hitch. Ample arrangements lor afternoon tea were made and carried out by the members of the Women’s Institute. The awards of the judges were as follow*: CUT FLOWERS. Antirrhinum. —H. White 1, J.
