GIFTS F3R ALL A JOLLY EVENING FOR THE CHILDREN. List night Santa Claus visited the Otane Sunday School and was greeted by a packed house of excited children. Santa ( laus, who carried on his ha *k a large .bag of toys and balloons, was met at the door by the Rev. Mr ‘lall. whose welcome was drowned by tiie din of trumpet a and squeakers. On reaching the stage Father Christmas pm let! the cm tains, revealing a wonderful Christmas tree laden with pits for all. Ihe Rev. Mr Hall, in returning thanks on behalf of the children, asked little Joan (hum to hand Santa Claus a beautiful satchel for his wife from the Church of England child ren. Mr Bull, superintendent of the Preshyteiian Sunday School, also thanked Santa Claus, and, assisted by Miss Wheeler, presented him with a l-eautilul iced eake. A jolly evening was spent in musical items and games, ami concluded with a dainty supper, wilh mixed cordials, a refreshing gift from a friend of Santa Claus. In wishing all a very jolly Christmas Santa Claus regretted that their superintendent (Mr J. J. Langridge) was not able to be with them that night, but hoped he would soon be among them again, and (banked all who had helped to make the evening such a success. Dn his way to the Sunday School I*«dher Christmas made a surprise visit to St. Hilda’s Home, where he distributed balloons, to the delight <V‘ the children.
