GIRL GUIDES.

ANNUAL MEETING OF WAIPAWA COMMITTEE. Airs A. V. Baker presided at the annual meeting of the Waipawa Girl Guides’ Committee, when the following report and balance-sheet were adopted:— ANNUAL REPORT. Owing to the good financial position of the Girl Guide Company Committee’s funds at the commencement of their second year there has been less work for the committee than was the case in the year of the Guides’ inauguration in Waipawa. In the winter, however, when it was decided to send two girls to the Guide camp at Wellington, a shop was held to provide camping equipment. In this Miss McHardy and Miss Jull gave practical help* and the parents and friends of the Guides responded so generously that a sum of money was again available for the funds after the necessary camping money was deducted. We are therefore able to hand over the very substantial sum of £l3 8s 4d to the ingoing committee. We. were sorry to receive the resignation of Miss Macdonald, who had been a Guider with the Waipawa Girl Guides since their commencement. Miss Bibby has, since April, been away in the Old Country, thus leaving in charge Miss Gray, who has ably carried on the two companies. To facilitate matters the two companies were thrown into one. We were fortunate in having Miss S. Pickett to help Miss Gray with her work. Miss Bibby, who will be with us again in the New Year, has meanwhile not neglected the Guides, and amongst other things has been to the Guiders’ camp in the New Forest, England, so that we feel she will have lots of new ideas for the Guides next year. Since Miss R. Limbrick resigned the management of the Brownie Pack they have boon in the capable hands of Airs Allan King, who, we regret to «»ay. has lately given up the work. Now we have two new leaders — Aliss V. AYitherow and Aliss C. AlcLeod, who will work together in charge of the Brownies and who, we are sure, will do most excellent work. So that altogether the Waipawa Guides and Brownies are in a promising position. AVe hope, in the New Year. In join with Otane Guides in a picnic, which should enable the Guides of the district to keep in touch with one another. BALANCE-SHEET.
