ODDFELLOWS’ BALL.

FIRST BIG DANCE OF THE SEASON. A GREAT SUCCESS. All concerned in the organisation and running of the annual ball held on Friday evening in connection with the I .oval Abbotsford Lodge of Oddfellows have good reason to feel pleased with the result of their efforts. The attendance was exceptionally good, and included visitors (members of the Order) from Woodville, Dannevirke, Waipukurau, Takapau, Tikokino, Hastings and Napier. Special care had been taken with the decoration of the hall, ferns and other bush foliage imparting a pleasing contrast to the brilliance of the special electric lighting effects, and the picture when dancing was in progress was one of kaleidoscopic beauty. The music was in the capable hands of Miss O’Reilly’s orchestra, and included all the latest favorite tunes. Messrs H. AY. Gallagher and E. C. Kingston were 1" charge of the floor, and saw to it that there was no lagging. The catering for the supper was entrusted to the Lounge management, and was in every way up to the mark Besides acting as joint secretary with Mr H. W.
