A plain and fancy dress ball will be held in the Otane Town Hall tomorrow evening, and a prize will be given for the best fox-trotting couple. Pinafore’’ go forward are asked to attend the ,'eneral meeting of the society to be held in the Concert Hall to-morrow evening at 7.30 sharp. A large attendance is essential, as the decision to proceed or definitely abandon the effort will depend on the response. At a meeting of the Waipawa Fire Brigade, held on Friday, details in connection with the brigade’s annual ball, which is to be held on June 31st, were discussed. As usual the members are determined to make the function one of the social successes of the year and dancers would be wise to keep the date in view.
