WATERSIDE TROUBLE.

Although the waterside workers’ -‘onferenee at Melbourne on Saturday decided that the men should return to work, the men at Newcastle, Brisbane and Port Kombla refused to e uine. stating that they would not r'-nonicr the Beeby award. The wharf laborers at Fremantle also remidiated the Beebv award, ignoring Ihe instructions from the Federation o resume work. The shipowners met to-dav to discuss the position, and decided that work must be resumed at all ports -before the conferenee with the men asked for can he granted. As a result of the dislocation of oversea transport facilities, the wool sales, which should have commeneed to-dav, have been postponed indefinitely.
