The Fastest Flyer
Man continues his mania for moving moio rapidly than any living thing on earth, in sea, or air, but he is not the swiftest thing that exists, writes a contributor in Tit Bits. One crea-
ture whose motion is an instantaneous blur of orange, has been discovered. This i 9 the Cephenomyia, or decr-bot fly. No bigger than a bumble bee, it can travel 815 miles in an hour —almost half the speed of a rifle bullet. How is such a flight, accomplished Science knows little about this fly except that it spends much of its time on rocks in high, clear altitudes, exposed to the powerful ultra-violet rays of the sun.
