The Brighter Matchgox

The ordinary matchbox is not a particularly decorative thing to have about a room, and the expensive boxes solid, for matches have a way of not getting filled once tho original contents have been used up (says a Manchester Guardian writer). However, one of the best-known firms of match-makers has solved the problem. This firm is making gaily patterned little drums, about 2Un. high and rather more than an inch in diameter. This is a useful size, as it is rather too large to be put in the pocket, so that there is loss chance of the ab-sent-minded smoker acquiring the matches. The matches used to fill the drums have their head in different colours—white, yellow, browns, blues, and greens, and the more ordinary red, making quite a pretty pattern when the lid is removed.
