WELLINGTON. Last night RUMMER TIME BTLL.
An announcement of his intention not to proceed with his Local Summer Time Bill was made ]iv Mr T. K. Sidey, M.P., in an interview. Mr Sidev does not intend to go to the length of having the hill removed from the Order Paper of the House of Representatives, hut he has decided that, in view of the latest developments, he cannot ask the Government to provide the opportunity for bringing the measure before the House again. C.O.D. The Tndustris and Commerce Committee reported to the House on a number of petitions asking for the abolition of the cash-on-delivery system, and recommended that they should he referred to the Government for favorable consideration. TRAFFIC TAXATION. The Industries and Commerce Committee submitted its report on a number of petitions asking for relief in the matter of taxation on heavy motor vehicles. The committee recommended that the petitions should he referred to the Government for favorable consideration, and expressed the view that the petitioners were entitled to some relief.
