Mr S. W. Strang left yesterday afternoon on a holiday visit to Rotorua.

Mr and Mrs F. Eagle left by the mail train yesterday on a holiday visit to Wellington. During Mr Eagle’s absence his pharmacy will be in the charge of Mr Symondson, of Waipukurau. The funeral of th&ilate Gordon McNutt, one of the victims of Sunday’s motor 6mash near the traffic bridge, took place yesterday afternoon and was largely attended. Many floral tributes were forwarded by sorrowing friends. The Rev. F. W. Robertson conducted a short service at St. John’s Church and conducted the funeral rites at the graveside. The deceased youth was a member of the Abbotsford Oddfellows' Lodge, and six of the brethren acted as pall-hearers. Bro. L. Pratley conducted the Order’s funeral service. The funeral of the other victim of the accident, Geoffrey Boden, took place this afternoon, and was also largely attended. The Rev. Father 0 ’Donnell performed the last rites.
