Princess Mary visited Rotherham to open a hospital extension. Communists gathered in the main square, displaying a poster: “Does Royalty Matter ? Workers —Think!’ ’’

A meeting began, at which a speaker declared that the Royal family were parasites. A working man shouted: “Get down, you dirty dog. How much is Moscow paying you?” The crowd broke up the meeting and enthusiastically greeted the Princess.

The “Daily Mail” says the Government has decided rigorously to repress threatened Communist activities. It has ordered Scotland Yard to arrest immediately the Communists who were responsible for the propaganda among the Aldershot troops. The Government has also decided on immediate action against the principals of the National Minority Movement, including Tom Mann and Saklatvala. —(Sydney “Sun” cable).
