BLAKE’S FLIGHT.

VESUVIUS, ENCIRCLED. (Electric Telegraph.—Copyright). LONDON, June 27. Major Blake telegraphs from Brindisi: “Arrived here frpm Naples, travelling via Foggia in order to avoid mountains as far as possible. On the way we encircled Vesuvius, Hying through dense clouds of sulphurous smoke, which nearly choked us. We badly bumped when flying over the crater, at times rising and falling five or six hundred feet. We crossed the Appennines at a height of ten thousand feet, the machine flying well. We are all fit and glad to be moving at last.” —(A. & N.Z.)
