£30,000 SNOWSTORM.
A £30,000 insurance policy for a snowstorm was, taken out by D. W. Griffith the producer of “The Birth of a Nation,” “Broken Blossoms,” and “Way Down East.” The snowstorm had to and did appear before November 20. The storm was essen. tial to a new Griffith production and the contracts of several actors who appear in the snowstorm scene expired on the date mentioned. In_ surance men say that this is tl*s first time a policy was ever written for a storm, alhough many have been written against one.
