CURE FOR INFLUENZA
A SIMPLE REMEDY. Mr. T. A. Durran, of Wanganui, claims to have discovered an absolute cure for influenza. Ho has used it with success from Auckland to Wellington, and so convinced,is he of its value that lie communicated with the Health Department. J)r. Yalentme has now replied thanking Mr. Durran for his trouble, but stating Unit “no further action is deemed necessary.” Seeing
that influenza is raging in Australia, and is not altogether unknown in New Zealand, Mr. Durran thinks —and many will agree with him —that further action is most certainly necessary, and that any remedy which* has been proved valuable should not be passed over by the Department. Mr. Durran explains that his cure consists of a pint of ordinary vinegar being boiled and tlie fumes inhaled by the patient for say three minutes. Ib* vinegar must be absolutely boiling, and the saucepan containing it must ! * placed under the blankets as must the patient’s head. A business man tried the remedy, and says the effect was wonderful. Whereas he had a splitting headache, and cold shivers before inhaling the fumes of the vinegar, he was in perfect health in a very short time.
