OBITUARY.

PASSING OF A PIONEER

A very old and highly estea resident of AVaipawa, in the pen* ! Mrs Phoebe Grenside, wife of ! Charles Grenside, passed ava; Sunday after a long illness l» with fortitude. She had reached ripe old age of 83 years. I The deceased lady arrived in h | land from England in 1856, two yx j after Mr Grenside landed. They W j married in Auckland and removed Napier about 1861. The family have h associated so closely with the groi ' of AA’aipawa and "district that Ik have formed many firm and laii friendships, and they will have I sincere sympathy of the whole M ' munity in the loss which has fall upon them.

The funeral took place at 2 pi to-dav, part of the service being tt ducted at St. Peter’s Church by An deacon Cullwick. Canon EccH very old friend of the family, assist with the burial service.
