PERSONAL ITEMS.
Mrs J. Dunn received a cable yesterday from her son James, who left with the second portion of the 24th Reinforcements, stating they had landed safely at their destination. A London cable states that Sir Alan Anderson, director of the Orient Company, succeeds Sir E. Geddes, Controller of the Admiralty, and will be responsible to the Government for shipbuilding requirements.
Mr J. Bibby has received intimation from the Defence authorities that his son, Private E. Bibby, is at present in hospital in France. No particulars have been received as to the nature of his illness. Archdeacon Cullwick has received advice from the Bishop of the Diocese that he has been appointed to the charge of the Puketapu district, the Rev. Mr Butterfield, now stationed here, taking the Waipawa parish.
