GERMAN CLAIMS.

SUCCESSES AT ALL POINTS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received This Day, Noon). AMSTERDAM, July 19. A Berlin communique states:— We recaptured the village of Longueval and Delivelle Wood at night after fierce fighting by the Magdeburg Twenty-sixth Infantry Regiment. In addition to sanguinary losses tlie English lost eight officers and 280 men taken prisoner, ami left a considerable number of machine-guns. Our curtain fire dispersed enemy attacks north of Ovillers and on the southern border of Pozieres. The British have not had the slightest success anywhere. French local attacks north of Barleux, near Belloy, were futile. The enemy continued fruitless efforts against the German lines at Terrefroide, on the right bank of the Meuse. General Hindenburg’s troops south and south-west of tlie Riga broke repeated Russian attempts, with extraordinary high losses. There has been lively artillery activity at Stokhod, hut elsewhere matters are quiet.
